A strategic and visionary leader, Thomas Rooney brings more than 25 years of managing large-scale and publicly traded companies. As Chief Executive Officer, Tom's previous experience lends itself well to the company's ongoing development of utility-scale photovoltaic projects in addition to building upon SPG Solar's well-established reputation in residential and commercial-scale solar. Prior to joining SPG Solar, Tom was a noted speaker and consultant in the clean-tech sector while also serving on a number of boards throughout Asia, Europe and North America. From 2003 to 2007 Tom served as the president and CEO of Insituform Technologies.
Tom holds an engineering degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
In the role of Chief Administrative Officer for SPG Solar, Denise Thompson oversees the day to day and strategic administrative objectives of the company. With over seven years in the renewable energy industry Denise has continuously endeavored to develop and upgrade processes and procedures that respond to both the needs of a dynamic and growing company as well as a rapidly developing and maturing industry. It's her success at concurrently developing and responding to both aspects of internal and external growth that has contributed to the development of techniques and standard operating procedures that have successfully streamlined the company's capacity to sell, design and build solar installations efficiently, economically and profitably.
Denise holds a B.A. from San Francisco State University, CA.
Paul McKnight has played a strategic role in leading SPG Solar forward during a period of emerging growth. He has implemented financial and accounting processes that allow the company to manage development and financial risk in an efficient manner and has assisted in obtaining additional capital for the company. With previous experience in strategic fiscal implementation, and partnerships with financial institutions including Wells Fargo, Wachovia and Tudor Ventures, Paul has helped strengthen and plan for SPG Solar’s financial future.
Paul Holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting from University of Missouri, Saint Louis, a Masters of Business Administration Degree from Washington University in Saint Louis, MO and holds a CPA Certificate.
As Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for SPG Solar, Inc., Michael Mittleman brings a wealth of experience in Construction Project Management, Change Management and Business Development. With over 30 years of construction experience from building facilities throughout California to multi-million square foot buildings throughout the country, his diverse understanding of the commercial construction industry is second to none. Michael understands the needs of large companies and the high level of service they expect. Previous customers include Coca-Cola Enterprises, Hormel Foods, Harris Ranch Beef, and Home Depot Subsidiary HD Supply. Michael's experience includes managing five companies, merging them into one profitable entity, and managing up to $250 million per year in business for an Atlanta based design/build construction firm.
Ted Walsh currently directs the Commercial Project Development team for SPG Solar. Since joining SPG in early 2006, Ted's passion for environmental stewardship, responsible sales ethics, and competitive leadership has helped SPG Solar sustain high growth and emerge as one of the most successful solar integrators in the Western US. He combines a high level of integrity, customer perspective and sales management experience with expertise in project finance and renewable energy - leadership qualities that ensure that SPG Solar delivers premium products and services that optimize return on investment and above all else, accomplish the environmental, financial and socially responsible goals of SPG Solar clients.
Ted holds degrees in Economics from the University of Rochester, NY, Managerial Accounting from the Simon School of Business at U of R, and a BS in Natural Sciences - Chemistry from the University of South Florida.
Tina joined SPG Solar in 2004 having over 15 years experience providing legal administration expertise for various law firms and start-up growth companies in the technology and construction sector. As SPG Solar's Manager of Business Affairs, Tina oversees all of SPG Solar's corporate legal affairs including construction contract review, corporate structure formation, and all aspects of corporate legal compliance. Additionally, Tina establishes and maintains all patent and trademarks registrations and compliance data for SPG Holdings, Inc. including those for SPG Solar and Thompson Technology Industries.
