SPG Solar Opens New Office in Oroville
PG&E Rate Hikes Spur Demand for Solar
October 28, 2005 … Oroville, CA . SPG Solar, Inc. (SPG) has relocated and expanded its regional office and warehouse in Oroville. Located at 521 Cal Oak Road, the facility serves solar system clients in Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Sutter and Yuba counties.
Local staff includes energy consultants, a field superintendent, project manager, and an installation crew. Together, they help residential, business and agricultural clients assess their energy needs, and design and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems that slash or eliminate soaring electric utility bills.
“We love Solar City and its surrounding communities,” said Dan Thompson, President of SPG. “From local government officials to college administrators to business, farm and home owners, there is a keen understanding here of the benefits of going solar, and a very positive attitude about our industry. It has been especially exciting to be part of Butte County and Butte College’s master sustainability plans. We look forward to continuing to help these communities go solar, especially as PG&E hikes its electric rates after the first of the year. Rates will go up an average of 10.8% for moderate residential users, and may double in the foreseeable future.”
SPG is offering free energy analyses and site inspections to home, farm and business owners, by calling 530-533-5988. Information regarding solar PV, financing, rebates and tax credits is available at www.spgsolar.com.
About SPG Solar, Inc.
SPG was founded in 2001 in response to California’s rolling blackouts and skyrocketing energy prices. SPG is the industry's most experienced developer, designer, and installer of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for homes, businesses, and large-scale commercial and government facilities. SPG's commitment is to build the highest-performing solar PV systems with the highest return on investment. The result is clean, reliable electricity that reduces or eliminates customers' electric utility costs. SPG designs and constructs the most powerful large-area on-site solar energy systems in the nation. Recent projects include the 1.18 (DC) megawatt Butte County Solar Center, which received the largest renewable energy rebate in California history totaling $4.2 million in 2004; and the 1.06 (DC) megawatt Butte College system, one of the largest community college solar installations in the country. SPG is currently completing a solar PV system for the Kentfield School District in Marin County, which will make it the first and only school district in California that is 100% solar.
