Expansion into Southern California to Meet Its Growing Solar Energy Demand
January 15, 2007 (San Diego, CA) SPG Solar, Inc. has opened its first Southern California facility in the San Diego area to serve its expanding residential, commercial, government and public works projects in California. This new office complements the company’s rapid growth and helps better serve the needs of SPG Solar’s customers in San Diego and its surrounding areas.
“We are excited to bring our services to the San Diego area. San Diego has the ideal climate for solar and we intend to bring our proven quality of work and expert personnel to provide the highest performing solar energy systems in the industry to the Southern California market,” said Dan Thompson, President and CEO of SPG Solar, Inc. “SPG Solar began in 2001 with one office and a handful of employees. Today, we have 5 offices throughout Northern and Southern California, totaling over 90 employees.”
SPG Solar is one of the industry’s leading solar integrators, having installed more than 900 projects in California, according to records from the California Energy Commission and PG&E’s Self-Generation Incentive Program. Its new San Diego office and warehouse facility spans over 6,000 sq. feet and currently employs regional Energy Consultants, a Regional Superintendent, and full-time installation crews, along with the required administrative support team.
SPG Solar’s recent installations for the Southern California area include a 200 kW system for the newly constructed Monterey Ridge Elementary School in Poway and a 341 kW multi-carport system for the Vallecitos Water District in San Marcos.
