SPG Solar, Inc. (SPG) designs, engineers and installs the most efficient solar array to meet each family’s unique energy needs. SPG personnel provide the daily on-site project management, and SPG fully tests the solar system after it is completed.
Attractive new products from solar panel manufacturers integrate with a home’s design to minimize visual impact. These panels are just as productive as standard rectangular panels but help to make the system more aesthetically pleasing.
As part of its turnkey service, SPG first creates a complete profile of a family’s total energy needs by analyzing the last 12 months’ worth of electric bills. SPG uses this summary of annual energy needs to design the correctly sized solar system for each home.
To collect the most sunlight year-round, the solar panels are mounted directly to the south-facing slopes on pitched or hipped roofs. For a flat-roofed home, the PV panels are installed on angled supports oriented to the south.
The panels are connected together to produce sufficient electricity for a family’s needs. Power from the solar array is sent to an inverter which changes the DC power generated by the panels to safe AC power for use in your home.
The inverter also sends surplus electricity generated from the solar panels out to the grid for credit under Net Metering regulations. With Net Metering, surplus electricity that’s sent to the grid is credited to the homeowner at the regular “retail” rate that would otherwise have to be paid for that electricity. The utility credit that the solar system earns over the year has the potential to eliminate your total annual electric bill!
As part of its energy assessment, SPG also suggests ways by which homeowners can conserve energy. This may include upgrading or replacing lights, air conditioning and appliances with new equipment for added energy efficiency.
SPG warrants each home solar installation for five years. PV panels have a manufacturer’s 25 year warranty, and have a 40+ year life expectancy.
